Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org):
Dear Representative:
Health care is big business in this country, and it is all about profit. Drug companies, insurance companies, and even doctors and researchers who benefit from people being sick and sick and sick perpetuate the toxic system. Unfortunately, the short-term medical solutions that may stop a
symptom are often the toxic hooks that insure even more illness and future profits. Drugs are made in such a way as to isolate a certain constituent to treat a specific symptom, regardless of the damage done to other organs in the body, and when enough people die from the side effects, the drug is given a disclaimer and eventually recalled, with drug companies doling out the money set aside for the inevitable victims. After all, we all have tendencies/weaknesses/dispositions towards certain illnesses/injuries, but we all have the same structures (e.g. one's liver my be stronger in the beginning, but will eventually succumb to a toxin that will destroy liver tissue). The health care reform that we need is to allow for more holistic, natural, and incidentally cheaper health care, unless of course
big business principals are allowed to corrupt - patent, monopolize, restrict, etc. - sale and use of more natural/balanced health care. We need to allow for naturopathic doctors, herbalists, acupuncturists, and
herbal remedies to be accredited and covered by health insurance and to allow research of whole herb remedies (not isolated compound and defamatory/bogus/biased or "FDA has not tested" "research"), which considers thousands of years of empirical evidence. Take these steps, and you will be more credible in your health care "reform." (How many herbal cures for cancer are you even aware of?)
Sincerely,
