Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org):
Dear Representative:
There is a basic (and most famous) study in psychology, that any first-year psychology student studies, regarding jailers and prisoners. Without specific, insightful and clear recognition, and training, those in a position of power over prisoners/accused people tend to use aggressive, even abusive, means to subdue and disable them. Yet, we expect to use our military, who are specifically trained to aggressively disable, as "police" and "peacekeepers" in very "civil" situations. This has set us up for the rhetoric of global jihadists that they are the victims of American aggression. Even though global jihadists deliberately target women, children, old people, any "infidel" or Muslim who does not support their jihad (as Islam extols) and have no problem torturing US military prisoners, it is thus easy to find examples of US mishandling of jihadi prisoners.
Ironically, in "civil" law enforcement inside the US there is an attitude that permits the unofficial abuse of prisoners/accused people. Most of our law enforcement officers are former military, these are the types of people who are usually attracted to and perhaps suited to law enforcement, and sometimes what is overlooked in the chaos of war is actively covered up/rationalized in "civil" law enforcement. Besides being vengeance (not consistent with our system of justice in this country), this attitude is also something that can be used by our enemies against us.
With our law enforcement increasingly becoming a government unto themselves and the encroachment of UN (politics on a worldwide scale) authority, came the underground American militia movement. The American militia movement was strategically fueled by jihadist groups, hoping we would destroy ourselves so they could step in during the chaos and take control (e.g. Jihadist detonating charges under the buildings that American militias blew up all over the country - McVeigh jumping the gun -
and supplying American militias with the weapons to ignite the situation and to use as caches later). Situations like Waco and others were used as examples, with law enforcement murdering in military-like onslaughts and clear evidence of serious crime being ignored and denied in accountability
hearings. Such examples did, obviously, deter weekend warriors and push the rest deeper into hiding. However, it also gauged what kind of force would be needed by global jihadists when Islamic socialism became the law of the land. In this scenario, we implode and global jihadists step in to rebuild.
To combat our own destruction, we need to reinforce the basics of the legal system that we already have in place, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the basic tenants of our legal system, the just laws that we
already have. We need to fully enforce our laws remembering why our government was established in the way that it was, to protect the rights of the individual. We need to make government leaders accountable under the laws of the land. We need a military that is only for our defense against physical attack and a police force that is trained in our legal system and expected to act in a civilized manner as defined by law (i.e. upholding the law, not being the law). We have all the "studies" and knowledge that we need. What we need to DO is to come back to our senses.
Sincerely,
