Please write in honor of Nor Almaleki:
Case # CR 2009-007938-001 Defendant: Faleh H. Almaleki
Judge Roland Steinle
Maricopa County Superior Court
201 W Jefferson St # 4
Phoenix, AZ 85003
Prosecutor Bill Little
301 W. Jefferson Street
Phoenix, Arizona 85003
Dear Judge Steinle and Prosecutor Bill Little:
I am writing to urge you not to allow a plea deal for Faleh Hassan Almaleki.
According to state prosecutor, Stephanie Low, Faleh Almaleki admitted that he ran over his daughter Noor Almaleki on purpose, that it was an attempt to enforce Sharia law which allows parents to kill their children for rebellion against Islam/Sharia. Sharia law enforces Islam in a self-perpetuation system that makes leaving, rebelling against, or even criticizing Islam criminal offenses punishable by death.
In the U.S. and under U.S. law, it is a criminal offense punishable by death to intentionally murder another for selfish gain. Saving face (i.e. Islamic "honor") is not a recognized extenuating circumstance under U.S. law and does NOT justify murdering one's own child. If you allow Mr. Almaleki to plea bargain his way out of admitted First Degree Murder, you will be enforcing Sharia law, not U.S. law, and setting precedent for future "honor" killings to have minimal consequences (just two years in some Muslim countries). Muhammad's doctrine of taysir requires Muslims to enforce Sharia law when there are enough Muslims or Muslims in power to be make enforcement plausible. Do not allow that enforcement and uphold the Constitution you have sworn to uphold.
Thank you.
