Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org):
Dear Representative:
If one thing the study of domestic violence has shown it's that the dynamics of the established DV situation are different than other dysfunctional situations. The tendency (by the abuser and society) is to blame the victim and make the victim responsible for the abuse and for stopping the abuse, even though the power balance, in effect, makes the victim powerless. The abuse doesn't usually happen immediately, not until the victim is reigned in with sweetness and all avenues of escape are blocked. Then, once the victim is trapped in an abusive cycle, it is just easier to say the victim must "like" being abused, an excuse for doing nothing about it.
Islam appeals to and caters to abusers. Indeed, Sharia law is codified abuse of women and non-Muslims (look it up for yourself - from the source, not the false rhetoric). As the global jihad is seeking to enslave the whole world, it is sweet-talking its way into every society and preparing to put women and non-Muslims in their place (of total domination and plunder) as soon as it is feasible. Once the victims realize the evil they are chained to, the answer is not to blame the victim and expect them to get out of the mess themselves. Studies of DV show that the most effective rehabilitation for abusers is a combination of jail time (making them take responsibility for their actions) and counseling (making them deal with their insecurities that drive them to abuse and dominate victims who can't fight back). To combat jihad, we need to prosecute jihad crimes as the crimes they are (i.e., rape, murder, assault, sedition, treason, etc., etc., etc.) and demand that anyone caught up in the power grab for domination be expected and made to learn how to fit into REASONABLE society. We need to have zero tolerance for Sharia law and no excuses for abusers.
