Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org)
Dear Representative:
President Obama has been slowly turning our governmental agencies into socialist entities that oppose the principles found in the U.S. Constitution, which includes the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. The President is seeking to use agency regulations, which are in themselves law, to structure U.S. society in opposition to the U.S. Constitution. For example, the President's Health Care Plan makes health insurance mandatory and under the regulation of the Department of Health and Human Services. His over all plan requires all people to pay for health insurance (or be fined), that all employers provide health insurance that pays for abortions, sterilizations, contraception and euthanasia (by refusing to pay for services for the elderly), and/or that insurance companies provide such coverage for free. Abortion, sterilization contraception, and euthanasia are considered great sins by the Catholic faith and inherently wrong by many reasonable people of all faiths. To require them to fund these actions directly is against the First Amendment in both making a law which "establishes" a religion (government as god that dictates one's conscience) and "prohibits the free exercise" of one's religion.
President Obama has also consolidated small business regulation and the Department of Commerce under one governmental agency which reports directly to the President. It is on this authority that President Obama will, in effect, enforce the mandate that insurance companies provide coverage for and hospitals to provide services of abortions, sterilization, and contraception and to not pay for services for the elderly. If the insurance companies cannot afford to provide such coverage for free, or if insurance rates are raised prohibitively high in order to cover this mandate, the socialistic solution would then be to make health care/coverage a governmental function similar to the U.S. Post Office providing mail service. The problem with this "solution" is that such insurance coverage is being used to destroy the religious liberty of those individuals who oppose abortion, sterilization, contraception, and euthanasia as evil. It would be like making Planned Parenthood into the country's only health care system and requiring every citizen to pay for it. It is unconstitutional.
As a citizen of the United States, I am asking you to live up to your oath of office, wherein you swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution (which includes the Bill of Rights), and therefore to oppose, not allow, and to repeal any law, including President Obama's Health Care Plan, and to restrict any governmental agency that tramples or abolishes or opposes the principles found, provided for, and protected in the U.S. Constitution. Restore and support the rights and freedoms, including the freedom of religion and speech, as outlined by our Constitution. It is our legal foundation and one in which ALL laws and governmental agencies and Congressmen and Congresswomen should be in accord.
