On
May 23, 2013, we were a mere four votes away from the United States
Senate
giving our constitutional rights over to the United Nations! In a 53-46
vote, the Senate passed a measure which provides for our Second
Amendment rights to be protected by preventing the United States from
entering into the United Nations
Arms Trade Treaty. We the People need to hold the Senate to this
commitment. Amendment 139 to the Senate Budget provides:
"DEFICIT-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND TO UPHOLD SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND PREVENT THE UNITED STATES FROM ENTERING INTO THE UNITED NATIONS ARMS TRADE TREATY.
"DEFICIT-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND TO UPHOLD SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND PREVENT THE UNITED STATES FROM ENTERING INTO THE UNITED NATIONS ARMS TRADE TREATY.
The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget
of the Senate may revise the allocations of a committee or committees,
aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution for one or
more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference
reports that relate to upholding Second Amendment rights, which SHALL
include preventing the United States from entering into the United
Nations Arms Trade Treaty, by the amounts provided in such legislation
for those purposes, provided that such
legislation would not increase the deficit or revenues over either the
period of the total of fiscal years 2013 through 2018 or the period of
the total of fiscal years 2013 through 2023." [Emphasis added]
The
United Nation's Small Arms Treaty, which President Obama signed, would
have banned the import and export of ALL small firearms if it had been
ratified by the Senate. The ban
would have superseded our Constitution, implemented an international gun
registry of ALL private
guns and ammunition, and would have been enforced by the United
Nations. (Keep in mind the United Nations is controlled by the largest
voting block of 57 Muslim nations (including the PLO) which professes
the goal of worldwide enforcement of Shariah law.) The 46
Senators who voted to ratifying the
U.N. Small Arms Treaty and to give away our constitutional rights to a
foreign power are listed below. Please remember this when they are up
for re-election and let them know how you feel about their actions (http://contactingthecongress.org/)!
