Law of the Land

Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org):

Dear Representatives:

The U.S. became a country of immigrants who were fleeing persecution and hoping for the freedom to live a better life. In our time, we should stop accommodating Islamic law in this country and become a haven for people trying to flee Shariah law, which allows women being beaten into obedience, married off as children, raped in marriage (as the Qur'an says:  "plowed as he [the husband] sees fit"), or killed for embarrassing a male family member.  We should enforce our Constitution, Bill of Rights, all our just laws, and expect immigrants to adhere to those laws. Women from Islamic countries should be completely freed from Sharia law while in this country, as they are expected to be responsible adults under the law in this country. Let this country be a safe haven for women and expel those who refuse to respect our legal foundations and our laws.  Let there be no "separatist" societies within our country wherein Shariah law governs (i.e. "submission") the lives of women and girls over and above the law of the land.
